Creating space to entertain
The client at this property in Brenchley desired a large patio to entertain and to connect the property to the swimming pool on a lower level. Natural stone was specified and tumbled Indian sandstone slabs in Kandla grey were chosen as they gave a timeworn appeal which suited the character of the house perfectly. The slabs were edged with hand cut sandstone setts in Raj colour. The colour contrast highlights the border and the natural beauty of the natural stone.
Planting pockets were included to soften the hard landscape and introduce summer colour and perfume.
The existing steps to access the house were re-designed to create a feature. The large radius steps were built using hand-made stock bricks and the step treads paved with sandstone.
