We were commissioned to design and build a new patio at this property near Groombridge.
A recently completed house extension had reduced the size of the garden, so the patio design needed to be sympathetic to the available space and incorporate existing features, such as an established Japanese Maple.
The original Sandstone paving was re-used and edged with a double border of stone setts.
Setts were also used to surround the Japanese Maple in a large radius feature area.
The organic, meandering shape of the new patio creates space where needed, e.g. outside the kitchen for dining, but doesn’t dominate the garden.
Flush fitting patio lights were installed to highlight the patio and uplight the tree.
